ACM

ACM logoACM is an automatic categorization system that does more than just classify data. It also interprets and structures information within a given business context by combining algorithmic and conceptual learning techniques with flexible and ergonomic functional architectures.

Automatic Categorization Manager is an application based on the interaction of two main components: the learning module, which extracts concepts for the definition of categories from a given database, and the categorization module, which interprets the new documents and allocates them to the relevant category. Both modules process text content by exploiting logics based on an ad-hoc balance of proprietary statistical algorithms, heuristic logics and neural ones.

  • Highly scalable and configurable

  • Multi-language management and multi-level taxonomies

  • Integration of categorization techniques for rule and concept management

  • Tools for automatically creating stop words, keywords and category size

  • Handles several document formats (Office, Acrobat, xml/html, mail, scanned documents, OCR)

  • Flexible, dynamic and customizable taxonomies

  • Broad choice and integration of algorithms and categorization techniques

  • Customizable post-processing

Text processing is based on advanced conceptual analysis proprietary techniques that are combined as needed with bayesian algorithms, neural networks, heuristic expert systems and sets of Boolean logics to put together a solution which maximizes precision based on the application environment. To adjust processing to the requirements of the relevant knowledge (word length, heterogeneity of terms, jargon …) it is possible to configure a further data refinement process that employs one or more algorithms designed to process specific text structures (stem, edit distance or Levenshtein Distance, similarity, soundex and others).

ACM can include in a single taxonomy conceptual classification methods and more deterministic ones that exploit glossary definition, metadata management and text splitting functions.

High-quality categorization also means the ability to define taxonomies in a highly refined fashion by means of functions such as: exclude list (list of terms to be ruled out of the definition of one or more categories), synonym list (allocation of synonyms, acronyms, abbreviations), locutions (defining locutions to be treated as single concepts), pertinence (allocation of minimum and maximum levels of category membership), keyword and category size (definition of minimum and maximum levels character number per keyword and keyword number per category)

ACM Solutions

ACM's implementability and customization allows for the integration of advanced capabilities that are not included in the standard version. Thus, it can be used in the most diverse environments to meet any requirement

  • Website news organization for press review systems
  • Structuring of corporate documentation in an intranet portal based on specific internal processes
  • Mail classification for trouble-ticketing systems
  • User profiling based on user interests or on their web browsing profile
  • Aid to classification of printed documents
